About the Course

Family Liaison Officer is an eight hour course designed to provide training in the FLO officer role during SAR missions. The FLO is the Incident Commander’s Representative to the family and the role acts as a vital conduit between the family and the incident management team. The course draws on real life missions to build the foundational skills that bridge communications in crisis situations. The class is taught by Moose Mutlow, the author of “When Accidents Happen,” the course textbook and is a national FLO trainer for agencies.
